STEAM are a fun way for children to learn about daily life in the ancient world, through science and the arts! Each STEAM Day will consist of a snack, a lesson, and a craft or activity. These programs are created to best suit children aged 6-12, but older and younger children are welcome to attend.

8/28: High Falls State Park Homeschool Day (Jackson)
ATTENTION: FRIDAY Homeschool group is here!! On Friday, August 28th, Bring students of all ages to learn about the Industrial Revolution and how it gave us High Falls Lake. Supplement your life science, botanical and environmental studies curriculum with a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. In the Fuqua Conservatory, discover a lush tropical rainforest, make observations on unique orchids and marvel at bizarre succulents from South Africa and Madagascar. Tip-toe through the treetops on the Kendeda Canopy Walk and visit the Edible Garden to learn more about the plants we eat. Grade-specific, self-guided materials will be available in the Visitor Center, and volunteers will be around the Garden introducing students to interesting phenomena. Watch Taiko & Dance: The Spirit of Okinawa with Mirai Kanai at 10 and 10:45 a.m. on the Great Lawn as they bring the exhilarating art form of Eisa to life. Originally performed to honor ancestors during Obon festivals, Eisa has evolved into a year-round celebration of Okinawan culture, featuring synchronized movements, spirited shouts, and the deep, resonant beats of both small hand drums and large taiko drums.

Homeschool PE (Valley Community Center/ Valley,AL)
We're excited to welcome our Homeschool P.E. Class back to the Valley Community Center on Thursday, September 3rd! Children ages 6–15 are invited to join us every Thursday from 10:00–11:00 AM EST for a fun and active class that combines exercise, teamwork, and skill development. Throughout the fall, participants will enjoy a variety of activities and games, including kickball, wiffle ball, shuffleboard, pickleball, and dodgeball. Along the way, they'll learn the fundamentals of each game, build confidence, stay active, and develop valuable teamwork and sportsmanship skills.
