Here’s what’s coming up this month:
2/6: Homeschool Hangout - WTVM Chief Meteorologist Derek Kincade (Harris County Public Library, Hamilton)
Our Homeschool Hangout meets the 1st Thursday of each month. Topics vary each month and cover everything from STEAM to guest speakers. All ages are invited to participate, though programming is targeted toward middle elementary grades. Homeschool families are invited to join us for an exciting program featuring a WTVM's Chief Meteorologist Derek Kincade as our guest speaker! Students will have the chance to learn about weather patterns, forecasting, and the science behind meteorology. This engaging session will inspire curiosity and give students a deeper understanding of the world around them.
2/7,14,28: High School Dissection Lab (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)
Does your teen need a science lab to fill out their graduation requirements for science? According to the GA graduation requirements, your high schooler needs 4 credits for science. Credits are defined as 120hrs of instruction within a school yr. For science, 2 of those credits need to have a lab component. If this sounds like something your high schooler needs then join us Fridays: January 31, Feb 7, Feb 14, and Feb 21 for a dissection lab!! Each class will run from 2-3pm. We will learn about lab safety then move on to dissecting a mammal heart, eye, kidney and brain. All dissection equipment will be provided including clear safety glasses and gloves. Long hair should be tied back and any loose clothing or jewelry secured or removed.
2/10: Art Immersion with Cora King (Chattahoochee Valley Learning Resource Center, Columbus)
Dive into art with local artist Cora King. Explore a world of creativity and imagination as she encourages your child to their next level. High-quality instruction, each week is something new! Join us for a drop in exploration or regularly on Mondays 11:30-12:30. Ages 7 and older.
Members $10/child
Non-members $20/child
2/11: Homeschool Play Day (Chuck E Cheese, Columbus)
On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, join us for Homeschool Play Days! From open – 4pm, score 90-minutes of All You Can Play games, a reusable Play Pass card, unlimited soft drinks, and all the E-Tickets you can earn on gameplay for just $11.99 per kid. A savings of up to $30 off! Simply arrive at your Fun Center and tell a cast member you’re there for Homeschool Play Day to receive this offer.
2/14 & 2/28: Homeschool Fridays (Treadstone Climbing Gym, Columbus)
for Homeschool Families. Every 2nd AND 4th Friday each month 3pm - 6pm. Gear Included
2/14: Homeschool Hearts & Crafts (Lagrange Memorial Library, Lagrange)
Join us for a mini-lesson on Cupid, make a yummy recipe, and craft a valentine or two!
2/19: Homeschool Hangout - Birdfeeders (Hogansville Public Library, Hogansville)
Tweet, tweet, homeschoolers! Join us as we make birdfeeders for the upcoming spring season. Homeschoolers of all ages are welcome to attend. Our youngest friends will need help from their accompanying adult. See you there!
2/19-2/28: Three Little Birds (Springer Opera House, Columbus)
A jammin’ musical brings joy and delight to young audiences, featuring music and lyrics of Bob Marley and based on the children’s book by his daughter Cedella Marley. With catchy melodies and a heartwarming message about overcoming fears, Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” is a feel-good celebration that captivates audiences of all ages. Come along on the journey and embrace the spirit of unity and positivity that defines Marley’s music.
2/20: Homeschool Science Day (Callaway Resort & Gardens, Pine Mountain)
“Plant Anatomy Adventure”
Dive into the fascinating world of plants! In this class, we'll learn about the different parts of plants—roots, stems, leaves, and flowers—and their functions. We'll also explore the plant life cycle, from seed to sprout to full-grown plant. Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, students will discover how plants grow and thrive. Join us for a fun and educational journey into the life of plants!

Homeschool P.E. (Sky Zone, Columbus)
P.E. Break at Sky Sky Zone, Fridays 1pm-3pm // Only $5 per HomeSchool Student (not available during School breaks and Holidays) Discounted jump prices specifically for Homeschool students. Take a break from the books and get some awesome, healthy exercise in on a consistent basis. Not valid during school breaks (i.e., Summer) Discounted prices offered for all HomeSchool students of any age. Every Weekday during the school year between 1pm – 3pm.
