Homeschool Happenings: August 2025

It’s time for another school year of homeschool events! Here’s what’s coming up this month:

  • 8/21: Homeschool Day: A Dose of History (Atlanta History Museum, Atlanta)

    • Did you know that Atlanta has two medical schools? Morehouse School of Medicine opened 50 years ago, and Emory University's Medical School has been here for 110 years! At our kickoff Homeschool Day program, we’ll explore how the city is a center for healthcare and has revolutionized the medical field, not just in the South, but around the world! After the fun, your ticket includes access to the rest of the museum, including Goizueta Children's Experience, the farm, and more!

  • 8/22: Fall Session Kick-Off Potluck, Meeting & Curriculum/Clothing Swap (Harris County Homeschool Collective, Pine Mountain)

    • Join us on August 22 at 11am for an informational meeting, potluck, class registration & curriculum/clothing swap. This meeting is required for all new members, and it is suggested that returning members attend as well!

  • 8/28: Homeschool STEAM Day (The Biblical History Center, Lagrange)

    • STEAM are a fun way for children to learn about daily life in the ancient world, through science and the arts! Each STEAM Day will consist of a snack, a lesson, and a craft or activity. These programs are created to best suit children aged 6-12, but older and younger children are welcome to attend.
