🪻Here’s what’s coming up in March:

    • Springtime is full of sounds, colors, textures and smells just waiting to be discovered! Join us in exploring the garden as it wakes up from its winter’s nap using all five of our senses!

  • 3/10: Homeschool Play Day (Chuck E Cheese, Columbus)

    • On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, join us for Homeschool Play Days! From open – 4pm, score 90-minutes of All You Can Play games, a reusable Play Pass card, unlimited soft drinks, and all the E-Tickets you can earn on gameplay for just $11.99 per kid. A savings of up to $30 off! Simply arrive at your Fun Center and tell a cast member you’re there for Homeschool Play Day to receive this offer.

  • 3/10: Tuesdays in the Field: Home Sweet Home (Georgia Aquarium, Atlanta)

    • Ever wondered who’s the largest creature in the ocean, or why some animals get to be so large? March into a month of wildlife and conservation as we explore the magnificent magnitude of modern mammals and the stupendous scale of prehistoric predators. From sizable cetaceans to colossal crustaceans, the list of mega-sized animals goes on and on. Get ready for an investigation of wildlife on a super-sized scale as we explore some of the largest creatures and features in our oceans.

  • 3/10: The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales (RiverCenter of Performing Arts, Columbus)

    • Hold onto your noses and your funny bones! Griffin Theatre Company’s uproarious adaptation of The Stinky Cheese Man & Other Fairly Stupid Tales turns classic fairy tales upside-down and inside-out. Jack (yes, the beanstalk guy) is on the run from a hungry Giant, but his escape is constantly thwarted by a cast of zany characters—including a loaf-obsessed Little Red Hen and the notoriously smelly Stinky Cheese Man. This fast-paced, 60-minute show is a whirlwind of fractured fairy tales where Cinderella snubs Rumpelstiltskin, the Ugly Duckling stays ugly, and the Tortoise challenges a hair-growing Hare. With witty narration, playful set designs, and a healthy dose of absurdity, this production is a treat for kids and adults alike.

  • 3/12: Homeschool Field Trip at Fields of Grace (Fields of Grace, Shiloh)

    • Looking for a hands-on, educational, and joy-filled day of learning for your homeschoolers?

Join us at Fields of Grace Flower Farm for an unforgettable adventure designed especially for homeschool families! Ideally for grades K-8 with activities in a self-led, free play. Your day on the farm will be filled with learning, laughter, and outdoor discovery as kids explore nature and experience life on a working flower farm.

  • 3/16:  Majestic Caverns Homeschool Day (Majestic Caverns, Childersburg, AL)

    • Make your child’s learning come alive and feel like a hero as they both learn and have fun. Explore the depths of our cavern, engage in above ground fun and even have an underground classroom for an unforgettable experience.

  • 3/18:  Homeschool Day at the Capitol (Atlanta)

    • Homeschoolers across the state of Georgia gather to meet and thank our legislators for the work that they do for our communities throughout the year. This has given legislators and their staff the opportunity to see “real” homeschoolers in action, rather than making assumptions based on media-hyped stereotypes. Through the years, this annual event has led to countless coalitions being built with members of our government that share our vision and has softened many who had been previously opposed to our style of education.

Homeschool Day at the Capitol has developed into a full day of learning and activities, while still achieving our goals of exposure to and gratitude for our public servants. We conduct Capitol tours throughout the day and hold classes on topics such as the legislative process (how a bill becomes a law) and the judicial system, all in a fun environment!

  • 3/19: Homeschool Day (Atlanta History Museum, Atlanta)

    • Encounter stories of revolutionary women this Homeschool Day as we travel across the world to uncover matriarchs who have changed society. From innovations in technology to political reign, March will be filled with women to remember.

  • 3/24 &3/25: Arts in Education Performance: HAIRSPRAY, THE MUSICAL (Springer Opera House, Columbus)

    • The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her 'do!
